The YMCA has taught us a lot in the past couple of weeks, the most important of which being the simple fact that... ROBOTS RULE.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn about the mechanics behind building a robot that can be controlled to do simple movements, sights and sounds! The YMCA brought in hummingbirds, which are simple circuit-boards that can attach LED lights, motors, sensors and more! You can learn all about how the kits work at: http://www.hummingbirdkit.com/
This is a great opportunity for our kids to explore simple mechanics, commands, algorithms, and technological design. We just know they are going to come up with some fantastic results.
One of our groups begins designing the "look" of their Panda Cheerleader robot!
Our kids begin building the body of their robots!
More from the beginning stages of our robotics unit!
We hope you stay tuned for the next stages of this amazing project, and that the anticipation is not too much! Try to remember to "recharge" in the meantime.
Thank you, dear readers.
