Another Great Week at ALEC

This Wednesday we got another visit from our favorite mentors at Strong Women Strong Girls! This week we learned about Jhamak Ghimire, a woman poet who overcame many obstacles and learned to express herself through words. The girls grouped up with the mentors for a fun poetry game.

Each group got a set of words and mixed them up and put them together into sentences and poems. The girls had a lot of fun making some silly stories with their partners.

The boys were with Mr. Steven who had a few different activities planned. They did some leaf etchings with different colors and drew pictures of their homes and neighborhoods.

After the activities the boys played some soccer outside and got a chance to play around with the camera! Here are some of the shots!

It was a great day to end the week!
