Grandview Park is part of Emerald View Park, a 257 acre urban park full of trails. While we were on our hike, we noticed that the view is a mix of natural elements layered over an urban landscape. Through the trees, the students could see Cupples Stadium, where they have their annual field day to celebrate the end of the school year.

We found small streams and photographed color and light. We also practiced our earlier lessons such as looking for texture, shapes and shadows.

At the end of our hike, we went back to ALEC and looked through the dozens of prints I've made of my work and the students' work. My hope is that the prints will be a way to continue the story our documentation of Allentown. They will stay at ALEC so that the staff can use them as materials for future art projects-- collages, buttons, multi-media narratives, etc.
