Snack Time: Peanut Butter Hummus

My son, Deshaun, participates in the Phillips New Artist Program which is organized by the Brashear Association. He also attends The Learning Tree daycare which is in the basement of the Brashear Association, Inc. Thanks to the Brashear Association, we had the opportunity to attend our first live Opera together. We went to see Don Giovanni at the Benedum Center here in Pittsburgh, along with other students that participate in the Phillips New Artist program.

Deshaun and I made Peanut Butter Hummus. Deshaun thought it was very good and so did I.

Ingredients:
1 can (15 oz.) chick peas or garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup creamy Peanut Butter
1/4 cup water
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 clove garlic
2 cups baby carrots
2 cups celery sticks
Pita Bread or Pita Chips (not pictured)

Process all ingredients until smooth in a food processor or blender.

Serve with carrots, celery and pita bread or pita chips. Eat up!

Thanks for sharing your healthy after school snack with us Joy and Deshaun!
