Families that reside in Allentown, Arlington, Arlington Heights, Beltzhoover, Bon Air, Carrick, Knoxville, Mount Oliver, South Side Flats and South Side Slopes and fall within the income guidelines were eligible for enrollment. This year we were able to serve 552 families, a new record! A total of 850 children received toys! The Brashear Association received 1,200 toys from the Marine’s Toys for Tots program, and an additional 2,000 toys were collected through the generosity of local donors.
We see many of our holiday assistance applicants throughout the year for various programs. Many are members of one of our food pantries; others are involved in our education programs. The Holiday Assistance Program allows us to provide another level of service to the families in our community as they move toward self-sufficiency.
We have already begun collecting toys for next year. If you would like to make a donation or organize a toy drive, please contact Tracy Frank here or call 412-431-2236.
If you helped by donation, sorting or distributing in any capacity we would like to say a big thank you for helping make this possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
-Tracy
