Snack time: Personal Pizzas!

We are starting a new feature here on The Brashear Kids that we are so excited to introduce!
Snack Time will be featuring some of our awesome moms, friends, and others involved in our programs that will share some of their favorite recipes to make with kids. We are excited to see how this feature will unfold, and hopefully you will enjoy some great recipes.

Our first guests are Stacie and her son Nate, who is a 4th grader in our New Artist's program at Phillips Elementary School. Here's one of her favorite recipes to make with Nate:

Raising a family in a city school district can be tricky, there are forces attempting to pull our children in directions that are destructive.  At a time when the school district is cutting back on enrichment programs, the Brashear Association appears to fill in that gap.  My son looked forward to the Art program this past summer and Thursdays are his favorite day of the school week because of the New Artists Program.  Positive role models, great programming and caring instructors help enrich my son’s artistic development.

Personal Pizza Time!

You'll need:

Whole wheat Pizza Shells
Fresh veggies
Fruit
Pizza Sauces
Cheeses
Sausage or pepperoni (turkey pepperoni for something on the light side)

One lunch or dinnertime favorite of ours is personal pizza!  The kids love to make their own creations and I have seen some crazy combinations!  Fill your pizza crust with toppings and pop in the oven for 8-10 minutes, serve with a nice salad and you have a healthy meal.
