Our first week with Allentown Academy

We just finished our first week with the 4^th & 5^th graders of Allentown Academy.  We had a fun week full of, name games, tag, computer time with the Hilltop Computer Center, bingo, a new pal, and we even fit time in for homework!

On Wednesday, our 4^th and 5^th grade students had the opportunity to create a time capsule! The time capsule allowed them to draw/write about their summer, their goals for the upcoming year, and lastly their “future self”.  Students then sealed their letters in an envelope addressed to themselves, knowing they would be receiving it again at the end of the year.  The 4^th and 5^th graders drew themselves as future football players, teachers, artists, engineers and basketball players!  This project was a neat way to learn a little bit about one another.

It was a great first week, and I am looking forward to spending the upcoming year with the all the wonderful students of Allentown Academy!
