New Artists 2012-2013 Art Lesson Round Up

Our last session with our New Artists class at Phillips was a week ago. Here at the Brashear we thought it would be fitting to do a round up of some of our past art projects we've done with these awesome students.

Our first week we made portfolios so we could collect and keep all their art work for the year in anticipation for our art show.

We experimented with pastels.

We mixed mediums with water colors and crayons.

Made all types of tissue paper art.

Worked on our facial symmetry.

A fun Andy Warhol inspired project.

Foil Relief Art was a popular project.

We wondered what it would be like if we had a bad hair day and creatures were living in there.

Our older kids worked on their self portraits and they turned out awesome!

Print making was a hit!

Feel free to pin and share all of these projects with other parents, teachers and after school program teachers.

We have loved every minute of our time we have been given with our students at Phillips Elementary during our New Artists program and we are so excited to be able to display all their artwork at the Carnegie Library South Side location. We are getting ready for the big Art Show on May 8th and hope that if you're in the Pittsburgh area you will swing by.
