Reusable DIY Jar Inspiration

Day 2 of our 5 days of DIY!

Today we are so excited to share with you a very creative way to dress up any jar to be a vase, storage container or treasure holder.
We strive to reduce as much as possible so use this project as an attempt to get creative with items lying around the house.

You will need a clean empty jar. You can use a leftover pasta sauce jar that was headed to recycling or an old mason jar.

For decoration you can really use just about anything. A couple suggestions and things we used are:
string, paper, tags, acrylic paint, yarn, washi tape, fabric scraps, label maker, legos or various toys,  chalkboard paint, found items around the house, the possibilities are endless!

You will need scissors, tape and possibly a hot glue gun. Kids, make sure an adult is watching you when using a hot glue gun.

Tips:
Hot glue a few legos to a jar and then build a face or object off of it.
Cut a few random shapes out of a magazine, tape to jar and then wrap with yarn.
Use scissors to cut triangles out of washi tape and place in fun geometric patterns or make a little banner.
Use acrylic paint to paint your favorite sports team colors and logo.
Hot glue a few fabric scraps to a jar and wrap some of your favorite string.

Now fill it!
Place some pretty flowers in there and use it as a vase to give to a sick friend or place on your kitchen table

Store some of your craft supplies in there or maybe hide treasures.

Get creative and have fun with it. There is no right or wrong way to do this.
