Well, we managed to successfully complete our first day of New Artists at Phillips Elementary School last Thursday!
Our opening day activity allowed students to decorate portfolios that they'll be keeping their artwork in for the rest of the year. We used colored poster boards, folded them in half and stapled them up the sides creating, essentially, a giant pocket. We let the students display their creativity with a variety of mediums such as yarn, tissue paper and fabric scraps. They seemed to really enjoy the project and each came up with really unique final products!
